ABOUT ME
My passion for Thai massage began in 2002 during my travels through Thailand. At that time, I was unfamiliar with this form of massage, but I was immediately struck by its similarities to yoga and the profound effects it had on me. Driven by curiosity, the following year saw me returning to Thailand, not as mere tourist, but as student eager to unravel the secrets of this ancient art! I took a practitioner certification at the renowned Wat Po in Bangkok, the most ancient school of Thai massage. However, life soon took me in a different direction and I ended up pursuing other endeavours for nearly two decades. It wasn’t until 2023, after many years and countless detours, that my enduring passion for Thai massage finally led me back to this path. I was privileged to receive training and certification from Kira Balaskas, a pioneering teacher at The School of Thai Yoga Massage in London. Later that year, I returned to Thailand to deepen my practice in the Northern style of Thai massage with Suryan Poonyafo from the Sunshine Thai Massage School in Chiang Mai, Jack Chaiya, and Aon Boonthumme, the son of the legendary teacher Prichest.
Additionally, I have explored various styles of massage, including Osteothai and Dynamic Thai, under the guidance of respected teachers like Siawasch Peyman, Oliver Chamorro, Bojan Babic, Sebastien Valla, Felix Cufre and Bob Haddad. In addition to Thai Yoga Massage, I am deeply passionate about the transformative practice of Yoga, which has been an integral part of my life for over 15 years.
Kira Balaskas, founder of The School of Thai Yoga Massage in London, has been practicing and teaching Thai Yoga Massage since 1989.
